Offers from the Sycamore CUSD 427 district and teachers have been posted on the Illinois Education Labor Relations Board (IELRB) website.
The offers were posted on January 28. The district’s filing includes an annual salary increase of 3.5% for the current school year followed by increases ranging from to 2.5 to 3.25% through 2025-2026. Among the other issues under negotiation are health insurance, extracurricular stipends, and contract duration.
“The Board of Education … is committed to continuing negotiations with the SEA throughout the posting process and until a settlement is reached,” according to the district’s filing. Sycamore CUSD 427 is a PK-12 district with 255 teachers serving approximately 3,500 students.
Offers filed by the district and teachers union from Gen Geo Patton SD 133 in Riverdale were posted in December. SD 133 is a one-school elementary district with 217 students and 18 teachers.
The IELRB is the state agency administering the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act. The IELRB’s public posting process follows a minimum of 15 days of mediation. The process requires both sides to submit their most recent offers, which are then posted by IELRB. A strike cannot take place until at least 14 days following the posting and a written 10-day notice of intent to strike.
