School leaders in Illinois and throughout the country are encouraged to participate in Public Schools Week 2024 from February 26-March 1. The annual campaign presents an opportunity for educators, parents, school board members, and communities to highlight and show support for local public schools.

The Public Schools Week theme is part of a larger effort — #HerefortheKids — that “brings together families, educators, and community members to shine a light on local public schools and share the stories of the positive things happening in classrooms and school buildings nationwide,” according the Learning First Alliance (LFA) the group that organizes the campaign.

LFA has resources to assist public school advocates with telling PSW24 stories. A social media toolkit, images, and graphics can be found on the 2024 Public Schools Week website. A series of online events is scheduled.

Groups and individuals wanting to join the conversation on social media can utilize #HerefortheKids and #PSW24. Illinois school board members who share success stories can tag the Illinois Association of School Boards on Facebook or include @ILschoolboards in X (formerly known as Twitter) posts about Public Schools Week 2024.
