Four Join IASB Staff

The Illinois Association of School Boards welcomes four new employees to the Policy Services, Production Services, and Governmental Relations teams.
Tayler Heidbreder started with IASB on September 11 and will be working as a Specialist on the Policy Services team. Heidbreder will be managing the PRESS Plus task list and working with phone and email communication with PRESS Plus subscribers. The Lincoln native comes to IASB from the health care insurance field.
Garth Minor has joined the Association as a Director of Policy Services. He previously worked in property and casualty insurance as a Claims Counsel and Associate Director of Risk. Minor is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. The Decatur native earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois and a bachelor’s degree, with a social science major, from Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Matt Schultz is new to the Production Services team with over two decades’ experience as a Graphic Designer. He is also a multi-media artist, photographer, and musician. Schultz received a full scholarship from SIU-Carbondale where he earned his MFA in Visual Arts. For the past 10 years he has worked for marketing firms, freelanced, and taught art and design at colleges and universities in Illinois.
Mike Stevens has joined the IASB Governmental Relations team as a Director. He brings over 15 years of experience, previously at Carle Health where he was Director of Government Relations for three years. He served as legislative director for 12 years at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. A Springfield native, Stevens resides in Mt Zion. He has a bachelor’s in political science from Western Illinois University and Master of Political Studies from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
