Advance Illinois has released a report on the educator shortage crisis and an accompanying dashboard using data from Illinois school districts. The 2023 report notes improvements in “stability” and other factors and reports on the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
The report, The State of Our Educator Pipeline 2023: Strengths, Opportunities, and the Early Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, looks at the state’s continuing efforts to “recruit and retain well-prepared and diverse teachers and leaders to guide students in every school.”
The State of Our Educator Pipeline Data Dashboard supplements the report with data that can be filtered by region, funding tier, student demographics, and other factors.
Advance Illinois is a “bi-partisan education policy and advocacy organization whose work is respected by policymakers and whose input is sought for solutions to the policy challenges facing educators and the students they serve.”
