The Consortium of State School Boards Associations (COSSBA) has announced summer events for its members.
On June 20 at 11 a.m. (CDT), COSSBA will present a webinar with insights and experiences about the challenges faced by individuals and families who lack access to affordable and nutritious food. The panel, “Food Insecurity and Public Education,” will be led by Roxanne Moore, Executive Director of the Stop Hunger Foundation, and will offer practical steps that school districts can take to address opportunities in their communities. The free webinar is available to COSSBA members.
COSSBA’s upcoming Urban Boards Alliance Symposium will take place August 24-25 in Chicago. The UBA Symposium will focus on best practices for students and schools in challenging environments. Registration is available at early-bird rates of $525 until July 17.
Looking ahead, COSSBA’s first Federal Advocacy Conference will take place September 25-27 in Washington D.C.

The Illinois Association of School Boards is a founding member. COSSBA’s Urban Boards Program is focused on supporting boards of education as they work to address the unique challenges students from challenging environments face daily.
