New Resource: 2023 End of Session Report

IASB has a new advocacy resource available to better inform school leaders of legislative activity that took place during the Illinois General Assembly’s 2023 Spring Session. The End of Session Report combines the previously produced Digest of Bills and Legislative Session Overview into one comprehensive publication that looks at state legislative action from the spring.

Highlighting bills that pertain to public education in Illinois, the Report includes a general overview of legislative action, as well as sections on the state budget, IASB initiatives, bills supported and opposed by IASB, new mandates passed by the General Assembly, and other notable bills of importance to public school districts across the state.

Each bill entry lists the bill number, sponsor(s), and a summary of the legislation. For bills that have already been signed into law by the governor, the Public Act number is included. The Report includes live links for each bill to the Illinois General Assembly website for additional information.
