Referendums on November Ballot

School districts throughout Illinois are seeking voter approval on referendums on the November 8 general election ballot. Items up for a vote include tax increases, bond issues, and miscellaneous propositions.  

School districts known to be placing local bond issues on the ballot include: 

  • Batavia PSD 101, $140 million, to build and equip a new building, and alter, repair, equip, and improve other school facilities. 

  • Cass SD 63, $12.8 million, to alter, repair and equip existing school buildings, renovate, and replace HVAC systems. 

  • Downers Grove GSD 58, $179 million, to improve safety and security and to update classrooms as well as build and equip a middle school building.  

  • Farrington CCSD 99, $250,000, for a working cash fund. 

  • Fenton CHSD 100, $99 million, to improve and renovate, alter, repair, and equip Fenton High School. 

  • Germantown Hills SD 69, $7 million, to improve the sites of and build, improve, and equip athletic fields and facilities. 

  • Glen Ellyn SD 41, $49 million, to build and equip an early learning center, improve facilities to include space for all-day kindergarten, and additional space for STEAM.  

  • Hillsboro CUSD 3, $13 million, to build and equip a new high school building. 

  • North Shore SD 112, $114.4 million, to build, alter, repair, and equip the sites of existing school buildings. 

  • Palatine CCSD 15, $93 million, to repair and equip the middle school and provide for full-day kindergarten in the district.  

  • Pennoyer SD 79, $7.9 million, to build an addition and make improvements to the existing school building.  

  • Winnetka SD 36, $59.4 million, to repair, alter, and equip all existing school buildings. 

School districts with tax increases on the ballot include Center Cass SD 66, Germantown Hills SD 69, Homewood SD 153, Lemont THSD 210, Lockport SD 91, McClellan CCSD 12, and McLean Co Unit District 5. 

Voters in the following districts will decide whether school board members should be elected at-large versus congressional township.  

  • Arcola CUSD 306 

  • Cissna Park CUSD 6 

  • Durand CUSD 322 

  • Elverado CUSD 196 

  • Havana CUSD 126 

  • Lena Winslow CUSD 202 

  • Metamora CCSD 1 

  • Momence CUSD 1 

  • Sullivan CUSD 300 

  • Tuscola CUSD 301 

One other miscellaneous referendum also on the ballot is to deactivate the Crescent-Iroquois CUSD 249 Junior High School facility.
