Nine Pre-Conference Workshop Choices Available for Conference Attendees

IASB will offer nine training sessions designed to equip school board members with knowledge, resources, and skills to provide effective board leadership and school governance for local districts. The three full-day and six half-day Pre-Conference Workshops will be held in conjunction with the 2022 Joint Annual Conference on Friday, November 18. In order to attend the Workshops, attendees must be registered for the Annual Conference. 
 
Full-day courses include Professional Development Leadership Training (PDLT) and Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA) Training, The Trust Edge Experience, and Leading Leaders: The Job of Board President. Full-day workshops begin at 9 a.m. and include a continental breakfast, lunch, and workshop materials. 
 
Half-day courses include Making Meetings Matter, School Finance for School Board Members, Get Ready to Govern, Partnership is the New Leadership, Setting District Goals and Direction, and Re-Examining the Board’s Role in Community Engagement. Half-day sessions begin at 9 a.m. and at 12:30 p.m. Morning half-day workshops include breakfast and workshop materials, while afternoon courses include lunch and workshop materials.  
 
Attendees that complete Pre-Conference training(s) will receive credit in IASB’s Board Leader Recognition Program. Registration fees are $300 for full-day or $150 for half-day workshops. Onsite registration will be accepted Friday morning, November 18 if space is available.
