Update: October 31
Both sides ratified the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. It is effective retroactively to the beginning of this school year and runs through 2027-28.
Update: October 24
The negotiating teams for the District and for the Teachers’ Union have reached a Tentative Agreement on their contract. Both sides will go back to their members to review the new Collective Bargaining Agreement and schedule votes for approval in the coming days.
Update: October 17
The teachers' union has authorized a strike, beginning as early as October 26.
Offers have been posted in the contract negotiations between Frankfort CUSD 168 and its teachers union, AFT Local 817, IFT-AFT, AFL-CIO. The previous contract expired on August 10 and the school year began August 11. The union and district offers were posted with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board on October 10, 2025.
At issue are the length of a new contract, rates of pay for 2025-2026 and beyond, insurance related adjustments, and salary schedules.
Frankfort CUSD 168 is a P-12 district based in West Frankfort with four schools and approximately 1,500 students and 115 teachers.
In addition to Frankfort, as of October 10, offers have also been posted in Valley View CUSD 365U
