The November/December issue of the Illinois School Board Journal looks at community engagement and offers steps for users of social media to protect themselves online.
To gain perspectives on community engagement from those who practice it every day, the Journal asked two questions to members of INSPRA. Learn what the said in “The Keys to Community Engagement.”
Guest contributor Patrick Mogge discusses “What Technology Can’t Replace: The Human Side of Engagement,” noting that even as artificial intelligence and digital tools expand access, meaningful engagement still begins with a personal connection.
For school board members, social media provides an easy, efficient platform to communicate with your community, constituents, and others. Using respect, responsibility, and caution is the best approach. Discover how and why in “Simple Steps to Protect Yourself and Your District on Social Sites.”
IASB staff also offers commentary on community engagement and leadership, policy, advocacy, governance, and more.
IASB members will find the Journal in their postal mailbox. Everyone can read the Journal’s digital editions. Selected content is also available via the Journal pages of the IASB website.
