ISBE Seeks Feedback on Accountability System
The Illinois State Board of Education is extending the timeline for public comments on the proposed redesign of the accountability system until January 7, 2026. The proposed redesign aims to tackle three issues: mislabeling schools, measuring performance against predefined standards and criteria, and focusing on guiding schools toward strategies that address the problems.

ISBE’s accountability redesign proposal is available online. Public comments can be submitted using this form. Additional information on the timeline for the redesign is posted on the ISBE website.
