Information for Superintendent Candidates

IASB superintendent searches are coordinated by the Executive Searches staff located in both the Springfield and Lombard offices. For each search, the vacancy listing indicates the consultant and administrative assistant to contact. For more information about IASB's Executive Search process contact Executive Searches Staff.

An announcement of vacancy is developed for each search. The announcement contains important information that includes a description of the district and community, a description of the ideal candidate, application procedures and processes, and a compensation package developed by the board of education.

How to apply

IASB uses an online application process and does not accept mailed, emailed, hand delivered, or faxed application packets.  

Visit https://iasb.myrevelus.com to begin the application process.

First time applicants will need to create a new account by entering your email address into the Revelus system (select Log In at the top of the page and then click "create new account"). Applicants will recieve a “verify your account” email before being asked to create a password and begin the application process using Revelus.

To apply for an open position, candidates must complete both the profile and application in full. Applications will not be submitted without fully completing all application requirements. All uploads to the Revelus system must be submitted in PDF format.

To receive consideration, an applicant’s file must be completed by the deadline specified in the announcement and must contain the following uploaded documents:

  • A formal letter of application indicating a desire to be a candidate for any position.
  • A formal resume that includes a listing of achievements in all previous positions in education, educational vision and goals, personal leadership philosophy and reasons for your interest in positions listed with IASB.
  • At least three recent letters of reference dated within the last 3 years.
  • Transcripts from each college/university attended. **Please REDACT all mention of your social security number and birth date, if any, in your transcript or other documents you provide.**
  • Proof of qualification and certification to be an administrator in the state of Illinois (copy of the administrative certificate with all related endorsements) or other evidence showing qualification to be an administrator in another state.
  • Other supporting documents can also be uploaded at the applicant’s discretion.
To be seriously considered, and advanced as a candidate, all materials must be current and accurate. Examples of items that may need to be updated include: dates for and years in your current position and expiration date on your current contract. References need to be kept current with dated letters included in your materials. Also, review the teaching experience information on your application. Many superintendent positions require previous teaching experience. This information should be included in both your Applitrack Online Application (under relevant work experience), and on your formal resume.
