2025 Conference Overview

IASB • IASA • IASBO Joint Annual Conference Recap

School leaders, officials, and educators gathered in Chicago for the 92nd Annual Conference to Light the Way for Illinois public schools through learning and collaboration.

Conference Highlights

  • 5,394 registered attendees. This included 3,123 school board members; 1,995 administrators and other district staff. Host organizations are the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB), Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA), and Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO).
  • 86% district participation. Attendee registrations came from 730 of 849 IASB member school districts, from Shawnee to Lake, from Blackhawk to Illini. There were 1,108 attending Conference for the first time.
  • 146 panels, workshops, and sessions. This included more than 120 Panel Sessions, 3 General Sessions, 2 Spotlight Sessions, and 14 Workshops.
  • Over 325 presenters.
  • 245 exhibitors (286 booths). This included 88 companies exhibiting for 10+ years; and 51 companies exhibiting for the first time.
  • The 2025 IASB Delegate Assembly. Business and action on one member-initiated Resolution Proposal, 10 board-approved constitutional amendments, and election of a new President and Vice-President to serve a two-year term. Read Delegate Assembly report.
  • Multiple awards. Honorees included superintendent of the year, distinguished school business official, top school board member, and top administrative assistant. Read about award winners.
  • Equity Immersion. Educational leaders found connection through storytelling and resource to advance their equity journey. Read about Equity Immersion.
  • Students celebrated. Each day of the Conference showcased the talents of many Illinois public school students. A special thank you to the Illinois Music Educators Association and Illinois Art Education Association for their coordination of student performances and displays. Additionally, nearly 70 student board representatives spent Friday learning about building school culture and the importance of good governance.
