Established in 1987, the Illinois Council of School Attorneys (ICSA) is a group of over 200 attorneys who practice throughout Illinois, representing school districts. ICSA is affiliated with the Illinois Association of School Boards and the National School Attorneys Association (NSAA). ICSA member committees research and develop guidance and resources that provide clarity and understanding for a number of complicated laws and legal issues impacting local school governance.
ICSA Membership Eligibility
Membership is open to attorneys representing any Illinois school district, or who have represented an Illinois school district within the previous two years, or who have maintained membership in ICSA for at least 20 years, regardless of whether they currently represent a school district. In addition, attorneys employed by an Illinois education management association, a national school attorneys association, the Illinois State Board of Education, and attorneys representing public school districts in states bordering Illinois are eligible for membership.
