Offers have been posted in the contract negotiations between Roxana CUSD 1 and its teachers union, Roxana Education Association, IEA-NEA. Negotiations have been ongoing since January. Offers were posted with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board on August 20.

At issue are salary, health insurance, hourly pay for substitutes, and payment for unused sick days upon retirement. If a contract agreement cannot be reached, the earliest the teachers can strike is September 3.

Roxana CUSD 1 is a P-12 district based in Roxana in the Metro East area. The district has approximately 118 teachers and 1,700 students in four schools.

In addition to Roxana, as of August 20, offers have also been posted in Cahokia Unit SD 187.
