IASB members have two opportunities to attend an important training covering all things collective bargaining. Trends in Collective Bargaining will assist district leadership teams with preparing for their next collective bargaining session. The events will be facilitated by school attorneys and provide answers to a number of common questions that arise during bargaining sessions.

Held in Naperville on February 6 and East Peoria on February 13, the half-day trainings will cover current trends in collective bargaining, such as compensation and benefits and regional topics and developments. The sessions will help prepare board members and administrators for their responsibilities at the bargaining table and offer tips on what school leaders can do to identify problems and resolve differences in a timely and efficient manner.

Both events will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. The registration cost for each is $99 and includes a continental breakfast and a copy of the book Collective Bargaining and the Illinois School Board Member. School board members participating will earn 10 Board Leader Recognition points.

Hotel accommodations are available at both events for those who plan to arrive the day before the training.
