Unofficial results from county clerk websites show mixed results to referenda questions on the March 17, 2026, General Primary ballot.

Voters approved five of seven building bond requests. Bonds were approved for:

Voters rejected bond requests in Pennoyer SD 79 and Yorkville CUSD 115.

Voters approved tax increases for Cornell CCSD 326, Greenview CUSD 200, Pearl City CUSD 200, and PORTA CUSD 202. Increases failed in School District 45 (Villa Park), and Thomasboro CCSD 130.

Countywide Sales tax propositions for a countywide 1% tax for school facilities, school resource officers, and mental health professionals were approved in Livingston and Randolph counties and rejected in Crawford and Winnebago counties.

Voters in La Moille CUSD 303 approved a nonbinding question about deactivation of the district’s high school.

A nonbinding question on the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit program was approved in every county in which it was on the ballot (Bond, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Clay, Coles, Cook (Orland and Palos townships only), Crawford, Cumberland, DeWitt, Edgar, Effingham, Grundy, Jasper, Jo Daviess, Lake (Cuba and Shields townships only), Lee, Logan, Madison, Massac, McDonough, McHenry, Moultrie, Ogle, Randolph, Shelby, Union, Warren, Wayne, Williamson, and Winnebago). The nonbinding question was “Should Illinois opt into a federal program that would provide public K-12, private school and homeschool students with privately-donated funds for academic needs, such as tutoring and test preparation, educational therapies for students with disabilities, tuition, books, exam fees or other specified academic needs?”

IASB will update the financial election data in the coming weeks once the results have been certified by the Illinois State Board of Elections.
