Illinois public schools and their talented students will be featured throughout the 2026 Joint Annual Conference. School leaders attend the annual training and networking event to gain knowledge, resources, and tools to support student achievement in their districts.
Student spotlights will include musical performances, art displays, and leadership.
Set to perform are music groups from four Illinois school districts:
- Oswego SD 308, East High School Jazz Ensemble
- Sycamore CUSD 427, High School Chamber Choir
- Prairie Grove SD 46, Prairie Grove Junior High Jazz Band 1
- Chicago Public Schools, Lincoln Park High School Chamber Orchestra
A collection of Illinois student artwork will also be on display at the Sheraton Grand Chicago, courtesy of the Illinois Art Education Association.
In addition to the visual and performing arts, a Conference tradition has been to incorporate student leadership into programming. The Danville CCSD 118 High School Junior ROTC Program will present colors for the opening General Session on Friday. On Saturday, Illinois Association FFA student leadership will share parliamentary experience through FFA with IASB Delegates.
Many of the 139 Panel Session offerings during the three-day Conference will present success stories from local districts leading to positive student outcomes. Other sessions will offer leadership and governance training to help boards prioritize student achievement.
A Conference schedule is available on the IASB website, and from there you can register for this year's Conference, which is November 20-22.
