IELRB Offers Posted for Valley View CUSD 365U

Offers have been posted in the contract negotiations between Valley View CUSD 365U and its teachers union, Valley View Council, Local 604,IFT/AFT,AFL-CIO. Negotiations have been ongoing since January. The previous contract expired in mid-August and the union and district offers were posted with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board on August 25.
At issue are wages, stipends, and the length of the teacher and staff workday. The district is proposing wage increases of 4.25%, 5%, and 4% over three years. The union is proposing a four-year deal with increases of 5% each year.
Valley View USR 365U is a P-12 district based in Romeoville with schools in Romeoville, Bolingbrook, and small sections of Plainfield, Lockport, and Downers Grove. The district has approximately 1,200 teachers and 15,000 students in 20 schools.
In addition to Valley View, as of August 25, offers have also been posted in Tinley CCSD 146 and Meridian CUSD 101 in Mounds. Offers were posted in Naperville CUSD 203 but there is reportedly an agreement there.
