IASB Board Presidents’ Academy to visit 3 Locations Across Illinois

IASB has scheduled three dates and locations for the Association’s newest training opportunity, the Board Presidents’ Academy. The Academy will offer targeting training for current and aspiring school board presidents.
The Board President’s Academy will connect current and future board presidents, allow an exchange of ideas and solutions, and provide an opportunity to build a network of valuable school governance relationships. The full-day training will include sessions on leadership during challenging times, a parliamentary review for productive board meetings, communications strategies, and the importance of the board president and superintendent relationship.
The one-day Academy will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at three locations in June and August.
June 15: Hotel Arista, Naperville (SOLD OUT)
June 22: Hilton Garden Inn, Champaign
August 3: Doubletree by Hilton, Collinsville
Registration is open to all IASB members and includes breakfast and lunch. Attendees will receive a copy of the popular IASB publication Coming to Order – A Guide to Successful School Board Meetings. Those in attendance will receive 10 points toward their Board Leader Recognition status.
