Contract Negotiation Updates

The Illinois Education Labor Relations Board posted contract offers from Mahomet-Seymour CUSD 3 on September 16. A tentative agreement was reached on September 20. The Mahomet-Seymour teachers union had voted to authorize a strike and amid negotiation sessions with a mediator. Outstanding issues at the time of posting included teacher salary, scheduling, class sizes, and staff time and pay. Mahomet-Seymour CUSD 3 is a unit district serving about 3,200 students in two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.  
 
Prairie Grove Cons SD 46 has posted offers in staff contract negotiations. Negotiations between the district and the Prairie Grove Education Support Professionals, including paraprofessionals and bus drivers, have taken place since February. Prairie Grove is a PK-8 district in Crystal Lake, serving 680 students.  
 
On other negotiations news, officials in Evergreen Park SD 124, for which offers were posted on August 17, are reporting a tentative agreement after last week’s negotiations.  
 
An agreement has also been reached in Peoria Public Schools, where teachers had voted to authorize a strike. The three-year deal was reached last week after a months-long series of talks.
