Date PostedOctober 5, 2022
The 2022 IASB Delegate Assembly will be held November 19 at 10:30 a.m. in conjunction with the Joint Annual Conference taking place in Chicago. The Delegate Assembly is the annual meeting where delegates from IASB member school boards vote on proposals to determine the direction of the Association’s advocacy efforts and positions on state and federal education policy. Each member district of IASB is entitled to one voting delegate.
Member districts can now register their delegate online for the 2022 Delegate Assembly. Districts can register their delegates by selecting the Delegate Assembly and Annual Business Meeting within the IASB Events Calendar. Only district roster managers will be able to register their delegate.
In-person delegate registration will be available onsite at the Joint Annual Conference all day Friday, November 18 in the IASB Info Center at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Delegates who registered online and those that register in-person on Friday will be able to pick up their delegate credentials at the same location.
Onsite registration will also be available Saturday morning prior to the start of the Delegate Assembly. District delegates can register and receive their credentials starting at 8 a.m. in front of the Delegate Assembly meeting room (Hyatt West Tower, Ballroom Level, Regency A/B/C).
The IASB Resolutions Committee, consisting of one member from each of the 21 Association divisions, met on August 5 to consider 16 proposals submitted by members. The Committee recommended the adoption of one proposed new resolution and amendments to four current IASB Position Statements. Analyses and recommendations for each of the 16 measures debated by the Committee, as well as proposed changes to the IASB Constitution and deletions of some position statements, are available in the 2022 Resolutions Committee Report.
IASB will host a Delegate Assembly informational webinar on Thursday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m. to preview resolutions submitted by local school boards, discuss voting procedures, and answer questions from IASB members.
