The Illinois Education Labor Relations Board (IELRB) has posted teacher contract negotiation offers for two school districts and support professionals offers from a third.

In Harvard CUSD 50, the Board of Education and Harvard Education Association (HEA) are in negotiations for a multi-year contract for 2022-2023 and beyond, after a one-year contract expired with the 2021-2022 term. An independent mediator is included in the talks. The board and union’s offers were posted to IELRB on September 21. The board’s offer includes a 4.5% salary increase for teachers in the current term, with additional bumps of 4.0% for the two years following, plus bonuses for years of service. The offer includes increases for non-teaching staff as well. The board’s offer includes benefits, extracurricular stipends, workday and prep time scheduling, and tuition reimbursement.

Harvard CUSD 50 is a P-12 unit district that educates 2,500 students in three elementary schools, one junior high school, and a high school. The district has 214 teachers.

Offers were posted by the IELRB for Carbondale ESD 95 on October 21. The most recent contract expired in August. Negotiations include salary for teachers; the board is proposing a two-year contract to include the current term with an increase of 4.25% to 6.25%, depending on the step, for the second year. Negotiations also include scheduling, assignments, and benefits for teachers and staff.

Carbondale ESD 95 is an elementary district with three elementary schools and a junior high. It serves 1,500 students and has 123 teachers.

A third school district, Prairie Grove Cons SD 46, also has offers posted by IELRB. The Crystal Lake-based district is in negotiations with its educational support professionals association.
