IASB Adds to Communications, Field/Equity Services Teams

The Illinois Association of School Boards recently welcomed two new employees.
Yolanda Chavez has joined IASB as Administrative Assistant to Nakia Hall, Ed.D. in the area of Field and Equity Services. Chavez graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in psychology from Purdue University Northwest and was born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago. Before joining IASB, Chavez worked for Thornton THSD 205 as an administrative assistant. The IASB Field Services staff assists member districts in accessing resources and tools for their governance roles. The Association’s equity efforts provide supports members on their educational equity journeys. Chavez works from IASB’s Lombard location.
Bridget Kusturin has joined IASB as Administrative Assistant to the Communications and Production Services department. She will also serve as the Service Associates’ liaison. Prior to IASB, she worked as Director of Nutrition Services for Opaa! Food Management, working closely with superintendents and school boards to ensure districts are in compliance with regulations. Kusturin is from Salinas, California and has lived in the Springfield area since 1995. The Communications and Production Services department manages IASB’s website and social media, and publishes periodicals, books, and other resources. Kusturin is based in IASB’s Springfield office.
