Registration is open for the Urban Boards Alliance (UBA) Symposium taking place September 8-9 in Atlanta, Georgia. The inaugural UBA Symposium will focus on best practices for students and schools in challenging environments. The UBA is part of the newly founded Consortium of State School Boards Association (COSSBA).

Information, including a full list of session topics and a schedule, and registration for the Urban Boards Alliance Symposium is available on the COSSBA website. The event will be limited to the first 300 registrants.

UBA offers resources to support school board members in creating educational strategies and sharing best practices that address and improve the educational outcomes of students within challenging environments. UBA provides resources to address equity, literacy, student achievement barriers, broadband access, drug and alcohol abuse, and school violence through events, webinars, podcasts, and online information.

The in-person event will offer three general sessions, networking opportunities, and panel presentations on topics ranging from educational and economic equity to family engagement and emotional and mental health supports, among others.

Registration for the UBA Symposium is open to school board members, superintendents, and other school leaders who want to learn about effective practices and strategies to address issues for students and schools in challenging environments. A housing block will be available at the Omni Atlanta Hotel for registrants traveling to the event.

IASB is a founding member of the Consortium of State School Boards Associations.
