Summer Schedule
The Illinois Association of School Boards offices in Springfield and Lombard will be closed on June 20 in commemoration of the Juneteenth holiday. IASB will observe its summer schedule in July and offices will be closed on July 1, July 4, July 8, and July 15.
Staff Changes
IASB welcomes Haylie Noltensmeier as an Administrative Assistant in Board Development. She replaces Peggy Goone, who is retiring. Before joining IASB, Noltensmeier was a high school special education teacher’s aide at Olympia CUSD 16, where she worked with students with many different needs. Noltensmeier was born and raised in Hartsburg. Her duties with IASB include Pre-Conference Workshops, awards and recognition programs, and more.
Other staff changes and promotions have been announced and are effective July 1. Katie Bulava has accepted the position of Assistant Director for Board Development. Ummehani Faizullabhoy will move to the position of Assistant Director, Office of General Counsel/ICSA. Emily Tavernor has accepted the position of Assistant Manager, Policy Services/OGC. IASB Director for Policy Services Angie Powell has been promoted to Senior Director.
June 22 is Resolutions Deadline for 2022
The deadline for IASB member boards of education to submit resolution proposals is June 22, for consideration by the 2022 IASB Delegate Assembly. Resolution forms and accompanying information were emailed to Association member districts in mid-April. A fillable submission form is available online. Conference Registration Open
Registration is now open for the 2022 Joint Annual Conference in Chicago. Check the Joint Annual Conference webpage for details, updates, and further notifications, or follow along on social media, using #ILjac22.
