Join IASB staff and guest presenters for a series of five evening webinars covering topics of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

School board members are responsible for the equitable and quality education of every student in the school district and must act accordingly in their collective work as a board of education to foster excellence for every student. The Illinois Association of School Boards undertakes equity work to provide Association members with resources to develop their competence and confidence in support of educational equity.

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Webinar Series opens January 12 with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and the Language We Use, presented by IASB staff members Theresa Kelly Gegen and Zach Messersmith. Discover how words are used and misused, how to make better word choices, and how to bring less bias and more inclusion and clarity to your words. The series concludes in March with a presentation on The Equity Journey Continuum, a tool to help districts view data through an equity lens, with State Superintendent Carmen Ayala, Ph.D.
