The Illinois Association of School Boards has received shipment of the 2021 Supplement to its 2020 Illinois School Code and Related Laws publication. It contains sections affected by Public Acts 101-630 through 101-673.

School districts and others who purchased the two-year School Code Service (2020-2021) will receive the supplement book by mail at no extra cost. All new sales of the Service will include both print books – the 2020 Code (as of January 1, 2020) and the 2021 Supplement (as of January 1, 2021).

In addition to the Illinois School Code, the publication service includes a large number of statutes selected for their relevance to public school governance and administration. Even with an abbreviated legislative session in 2020 due to the pandemic, there were new statutes and changes to existing laws that impact public schools. This edition contains the new Data Governance and Organization to Support Equity and Racial Justice Act and Transitions in Education Act. It also contains pertinent updates to the Education Labor Relations Act, Open Meetings Act, Freedom of Information Act, Disclosure of Economic Interests, Election Code, Public Funds Investment Act, State Mandates Act, Local Records Act, and Illinois Police Training Act, as well as pertinent sections from the Juvenile Court Act, Criminal Code, and Illinois Human Rights Act.

The 2020-2021 Service is available in print format only, while supplies last. Text of state statutes and education regulations available and accessible to the public on government websites include the Illinois School Code and Related Acts, Illinois Compiled Statutes, and Illinois Administrative Code.

The 2020-2021 School Code Service may be obtained from IASB for $65 each ($55 for IASB members) plus a $7 per order shipping fee.
