The March/April 2021 issue of the Illinois School Board Journal features facilities management. The issue offers “When the ‘New Normal’ Arrives: Applying the Lessons of the Pandemic” which includes “ideas that stick … innovations in building operation and maintenance, transportation, food services, technology and other areas.” This article is based on a prompt by contributor James Fritts as part of the coursework for a Finance and Budgeting class in a principal preparation program.
School facilities are vital to communities in ways that go beyond classroom education. The [Re]Build America’s School Infrastructure Coalition (BASIC) supports healthy, safe, and educationally appropriate school facilities. Read more on the topic in two commentaries in this issue of the Journal.
Also in this issue, gain insight on the use of data in equity and resource management and budgeting from contributors Sara R. Shaw of ISBE and Carrie B. Stewart of Afton Partners.
Look for the print edition wherever you get your school board member mail, or read the Journal online.
