School Maintenance Project Grant Applications
School districts can sign up to receive up to $50,000 in matching funds under the first round of the FY 2022 School Maintenance Project Grant. Districts can apply for the grants through IWAS, with applications due to their Regional Office of Education by 4 p.m. on October 8.
The School Maintenance Project Grant provides dollar-for-dollar matching grants that must be used for the maintenance or upkeep of education buildings or structures. Districts must provide a match of local funds equal to the amount of the grant requested. Districts have two years after the disbursement of the grant funds to fully spend the money. Additional information on the grant program can be found on the School Maintenance Project Grant webpage.
Bullying Prevention Policy Submissions
All Illinois public school districts are required to implement a bullying prevention policy and submit the policy to ISBE. For IASB members that subscribe to the Policy Reference Education Subscription Service (PRESS), information on this subject can be found in an update to Sample Board Policy 7.180, Bullying. The deadline for districts to submit their 2021-2022 Bullying Prevention Policy through IWAS is September 30. A user guide to assist with submissions is available online.
