The first in IASB’s series of webinars for those who perform the duties of the school board secretary or administrative assistant will take place this week.

“OMA Gray Areas and Pandemic Rules,” will be held on November 5 from noon-1 p.m. How do you properly apply the Open Meetings Act to virtual meetings, board-attended retirement parties and events, personnel agendas, committees, and board emails? Learn how to navigate the Act’s gray areas and pandemic rules in a discussion presented by Attorney Steven M. Richart and Danielle Schneider from Hodges, Loizzi, Eisenhammer, Rodick & Kohn LLP.

Registration is available via the IASB Events Calendar. These sessions offer knowledge building and assistance for administrative professionals working with the particular challenges of 2020. Although designed especially for the district’s administrative professional, all IASB members are welcome.

The next two webinars in the series are “Staying the Course: Compliance and COVID-19,” on November 12 and “A Taste of Equity: An Educational Imperative,” on November 19. The latter session will also include the presentation of the 2020 Holly Jack Outstanding Service Award.
