The Illinois Agricultural Education organization is sponsoring a workshop for education leaders. “Feeding Students through 2050: Preparing Students for Leadership Careers through Agricultural Education,” will offer initiatives to support schools in developing curriculums in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR).

The online event will take place on November 13 at 10 a.m. Complete information and registration are available on the Illinois Agricultural Education & FFA website.

The online workshop will include Rep. Sonya Harper, Illinois 6th District; Greg Webb, Vice President for State Government Relations with ADM; representatives from the Illinois Future Farmers of America, and Dean Dittmar and Luke Allen, coordinators for agriculture education at Illinois Agriculture Education.

The presentation will look at agriculture education, including in suburban schools, career pathways, and resources for schools teaching AFNR. With 25% of the Illinois civilian workforce employed in AFNR, the state’s largest industry, the workshop will assist school leaders in supporting the future of agriculture education.
