IASB Delegate Assembly Meets Virtually on November 14
Date PostedNovember 13, 2020
At the Delegate Assembly, delegates representing a member board of education vote on the resolutions as put forth by the Resolutions Committee. If approved by the Delegate Assembly, resolutions become Position Statements or Belief Statements in the IASB Constitution, and give IASB staff direction on legislative positions.
For 2020, the Resolutions Committee recommended the adoption of three proposed resolutions, the reaffirmation of three existing position statements, and the addition of one new belief statement. Also included are a number of amendments to and deletions of out-of-date or no longer relevant language. Further details on all the proposed resolutions and the rationales for the Committee’s recommendations are available in the complete Resolutions Committee Report.
Due to the change to a virtual platform, discussion at the event itself is limited. Two opportunities for discussion have been held; both were recorded and are available for review on IASB’s Delegate Assembly webpage. Full information, including a preview and informational webinar on the format change, can be found there as well.
A live video stream of the Delegate Assembly will be available at 10 a.m. the morning of the meeting for those interested in watching.
