The next event on IASB’s virtual calendar, “7 Questions: How the Legislature is Addressing Statewide School Closures,” will take place on May 11 at 6 p.m.

Since Governor J.B. Pritzker issued stay-at-home orders during the coronavirus pandemic, and all Illinois schools have been closed for the remainder of the academic year, what roles or actions have been taken by the state and federal governments to guide school boards? Listen as members of the IASB legislative staff solve the maze of proclamations, executive orders, guidance documents, and administrative rules that give direction to school districts. Learn about what the legislature might have in mind, and what IASB is doing to advocate for local school boards.

The event will be a Zoom video conference at 6 p.m. on May 11. Although it is free as an IASB member benefit, registration is required to receive the link to join the meeting. Visit the IASB Events Calendar to register.

Previous IASB teleconferences, “Post-Pandemic School District Budget Issues,” recorded on April 27, and “Ask Attorneys Anything – A COVID-19 Round Robin,” recorded May 1, can be viewed on IASB’s Crisis Outreach page.
