In January, school board members from around the state met in Naperville, Springfield, and Mount Vernon to discuss collective bargaining. In Naperville, attorneys and collective bargaining experts Shelli Anderson and Nicki Bazer of Franczek P.C. led the presentation, which included the basics of the bargaining process, defining a member’s working style, and current trends in collective bargaining.

Members attended the event to stay up-to-date with trends in collective bargaining and had opportunities to ask district-specific questions to the panelists. The Naperville event was recorded, and is now available as an online learning course for interested members wishing to view the event.

There is a $30 fee for the course; participation will count as one-half LeaderShop Academy credit.  Access starts on IASB’s Online Learning page, which includes the new “Trends in Collective Bargaining” video course.
