New Final Offers Posted; Districts Negotiate with Support Staff

The Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board has posted two new sets of final offers from school districts, both in negotiations with school staff.
Ball-Chatham CUSD 5’s proposal to the Ball-Chatham Education Support Professionals Association (BCESPA), IEA-NEA includes an average total salary increase of 14.66% over three years and an increase in starting rates for most support professional positions. The BCESPA includes the district’s cafeteria workers, custodians, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, maintenance workers, nurses, hall monitors, library and study hall aides, coordinators of student and family supports, and grounds workers.
ROWVA CUSD 208, based in Oneida, has proposed raises starting at 10% for the first year. The board of education’s goals include providing a fair salary and benefits package that is financially responsible and encouraging and maintaining the highest quality instruction. The ROWVA School Employees Association, IEA-NEA includes school secretaries, aides, bus drivers, and custodians.
Decatur SD 61 and the Decatur Federation of Teaching Assistants Local 4324, IFT-AFT, AFL-CIO, with offers posted by the IELRB in October 2019, last met in February. No date is scheduled for the next mediation session.
