Federal Legislative Report 116-11 includes the federal stimulus passed and signed March 27 to further address the COVID-19 pandemic. Known as the CARES Act, it includes many provisions for education. School districts will be able to use their share of the $13.5 billion K-12 allocation – which will be allocated based on the proportion of Title I funding for the most recent fiscal year – for any purposes authorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), IDEA, Perkins Career and Technical Education (CTE), and other specified uses.

Federal Legislative Report 116-11 also has information for districts especially hard hit by the emergency, new USDA flexibility for school meal pick-ups, new guidance from the U.S. Department of Education on distance learning and IDEA, and more.
