Exhibition of Educational Environments
Changes have been introduced and accommodations made for those entering school designs in this year’s Exhibition of Educational Environments (EEE).
The awards for top school designs, which are normally honored during the Joint Annual Conference in Chicago, will be presented during a virtual announcement later this year.
The Exhibition timeline has been adjusted to allow for additional time to submit judging materials and a later date for the jury to meet. Preliminary materials must now be submitted by October 1. The jury will judge project submissions on October 15 in Springfield. EEE winners will be notified on October 26.
All entries will be reviewed on a blind basis by a jury comprised of three architects chosen by the Service Associates and three school board members or administrators selected by IASB.
Holly Jack Outstanding Service Award
The deadline to submit nominations for the 2020 Holly Jack Outstanding Service Award will remain September 30. The award recognizes the extraordinary work provided by board and district secretaries/administrative professionals who assist their local boards of education. The Holly Jack winner is normally honored at the Joint Annual Conference in Chicago. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of the Annual Conference this year’s award presentation will be held virtually in November. Further details regarding the award presentation will be announced soon.
IASB staff is beginning the transition back into the physical offices. Some employees have already returned for regular hours, while remote work will remain an option in order to keep a flexible schedule and stay in compliance with state health guidelines. IASB employees will continue to be available during normal office hours by email and phone at (217) 528-9688 or (630) 629-3776.
