Fall Division Meetings offer an array of topics
-
Date PostedSeptember 18, 2019
The North Cook Division will also feature the topic of educational equity, with “Equity: An Educational Imperative” presented by Bea Young and Susan O’Halloran on October 16.
The ever-present Evidence-Based Funding (EBF) model makes a featured appearance in several topical sessions, including October 1 in the Southwestern and Three Rivers divisions, and October 3 in the Abe Lincoln Division. Later in the month, EBF returns in the presentation “Moving Illinois toward Fiscal Sustainability” by CTBA’s Ralph Martire at the Lake and DuPage meetings.
Other topics include cyberbullying, data, collective bargaining, social-emotional learning, and career education.
Division Meetings offer networking opportunities and updates from Association staff, division directors, and division chairpersons. Meetings also offer keynote or breakout sessions on a variety of important education topics for school leaders.
All 21 divisions will host meetings. Each offers peer recognition and networking opportunities. Most school board members attend the meeting within their home division, but all are encouraged to attend a meeting outside their division if a different date, site, or topic is better suited to their calendar, location, or interests.
See below for the list of divisions, dates, locations, and topics. Online registration is required and can be completed through the MyAccount button above. Attendance at Division Meetings earns participants five points in IASB’s Master Board Member Program.
