The November/December 2019 issue of the Illinois School Board Journal shines a light on several newsworthy topics, including the surge in the number of students using e-cigarettes, the proliferation of products designed to disguise vaping, and the recent increase in serious vaping-related illness.
Also from the headlines, the state’s new cannabis legislation impacts school districts in some obvious, and not-so-obvious, ways. The Journal touches base with the Latino Policy Forum on starting points for districts working with Emergent Bilinguals and the supports they need. Also, anticipating a new workshop offering, the Journal highlights IASB’s refreshed Equity work with a Q&A with Bea Young and Associates, highlighting the “Equity Journey.”
