Doing Good Even Better: How to be an Effective Board Member of a Nonprofit Organization by Edgar Stoesz is an updated and revised version of the original 2007 book. Subtitled “How to be an Effective Board Member of a Nonprofit Organization,” the book emphasizes the governance/management distinction and offers guidance for managing meetings, working through crises, and “leaving right.”
An updated version of the popular Lincoln on Leadership applies the 16th president’s wisdom to today’s world. Lincoln on Leadership for Today: Abraham Lincoln’s Approach to 21st-Century Issues by Donald T. Phillips uses the experiences, writings, and stories from Lincoln’s lifetime to relate his leadership and relevance to the issues and divisions currently challenging the nation.
Manage Your Time or Time Will Manage You is a new title by PJ Caposey, superintendent of Meridian CUSD 223 in Stillman Valley. Subtitled “Strategies That Work from an Educator Who's Been There,” the book offers reasons for time management challenges and offers advice and support.
Restoring the Soul to Education: Equity Closes the Achievement Gap by Bea Young, Carmen I. Ayala, and Michael L. Kilgore offers an enlightened and experienced approach to embarking on an educational equity journey. IASB is working with Young on an upcoming Educational Equity workshop.
The third edition of Illinois Law in the School Office by Brian D. Schwartz and Scott L. Day is available to help school office personnel and administrators quickly and accurately handle day-to-day legal matters, with key topics discussed and frequently-asked questions addressed.
