Joint Annual Conference Cancellation FAQs

Will there be a virtual conference?
No, there will not be a virtual Joint Annual Conference, however, IASB members are invited to a number of virtual education opportunities. Information is emailed to IASB membership and posted on the Events Calendar. Plans are underway for the IASB Virtual Summit on Friday, November 20, 2020. Registration for the event will open on October 1.
 
I am an award winner. How does this affect me?
IASB is exploring other opportunities to recognize the 2020 award winners who would have been honored during the General Sessions.

Changes have been introduced and accommodations made for those who entered school designs in this year’s Exhibition of Educational Environments (EEE). The awards for top school designs will be presented during a virtual announcement later this year. EEE winners will be notified on October 26.

The deadline to submit nominations for the 2020 Holly Jack Outstanding Service Award will remain September 30. The award recipient is normally honored at the Administrative Professionals’ Program at the Joint Annual Conference in Chicago. This year’s award presentation will be held virtually on November 19 at noon.

The Thomas Lay Burroughs Award, which is presented annually to an outstanding member of an Illinois school board, will be presented during ISBE's November 18 meeting. More information on the Burroughs Award can be found on the ISBE website.

I am a registered exhibitor. What options do I have to receive a refund and reserve the same booth for the 2021 Joint Annual Conference?
Registered exhibitors may apply payments toward the 2021 Joint Annual Conference or request a refund.
 
I am a sponsor. How can I stay connected to IASB?

I am a delegate for my district. How does this impact the annual IASB Delegate Assembly?
The 2020 Delegate Assembly and IASB business meeting will be held virtually on Saturday, November 14. More information will be available soon. More information will be coming in the months and weeks prior to Delegate Assembly. 

  • IASB members are invited to participate in a webinar on September 28 with Government Relations staff previewing this year’s Assembly and virtual format.

 
What about other meetings and events held in conjunction with the Annual Conference?
Partner organizations will share information regarding events held in conjunction with the conference. The following IASB meetings are scheduled:
