This combined Virtual Division Meeting is hosted by Patrick Allen and Reatha Owen for the following divisions: Abe Lincoln, Blackhawk, CIV, Corn Belt, Kaskaskia, Southwestern, Two Rivers, and Western. This webinar focuses on mental health and the variety of social and emotional supports available to students presented by Adriane Moody of Mt. Zion CUSD 3 and Bradley Polanin of Riverton CUSD 14.

Participants will learn about school mental health, the variety of social and emotional supports available to students, and the connection between mental health, academic achievement, and educator burnout. Participants will understand why it is important for school board members to support staff and student mental health. Adriane Moody, school counselor at Mt. Zion CUSD 3, will share practical strategies and action steps specific to how the school board can improve a district’s climate and create an environment where staff and students feel valued, happy, and recognized. Also Bradley Polanin, superintendent of Riverton CUSD 14, will discuss the partnership Riverton has with Memorial Behavioral Health and Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center to offer free services to Riverton students.
