The Illinois Association of School Boards is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to the Associate Executive Director of the Field and Equity Services department in our Lombard, IL office.
Functions of the job include handling day-today administrative operations of the department; creating agendas, administrative minutes, and details for staff meetings; handling various correspondence and communications within the department, across departments, and with committees and organizations of which the Associate Executive Director is a representative; creating and maintaining files, documents, and resource items for the department; collaborating with and leading various projects with IASB support staff; conducting searches and research in relation to Field and Equity Services initiatives; and calendar scheduling for the Associate Executive Director.
A high school diploma or equivalent and evidence of relevant administrative support experience are required. The position will report to the Associate Executive Director of Field and Equity Services.
Required competencies include knowledge of Zoom and current Microsoft Office Professional Suite with an emphasis on word processing, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as skills required to create and utilize charts and graphs. Basic knowledge of database use and research are also required.
Other required competencies include a strong sense of confidentiality; the possession of interpersonal skills necessary to work with members and other staff effectively in a team environment; the ability to organize office space, files, data, and schedules; high degree of self-motivation and leadership skills; excellent grammar and ability to proofread and edit; the ability to use office equipment (postage meter, photocopying, printing, FAX); desire to help create equitable workplace and school environments; and the ability to plan and execute meetings and events.
Occasional evening and weekend work, as well as occasional travel and overnight stays are required.
