SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Association of School Boards has published an updated Sixteenth Edition of its top-selling title, Illinois School Law Survey. Sales of the print publication also include access to a digital format.

The book, updated bi-annually, is the most convenient way to access and cross-reference school law issues. Its question-and-answer format allows readers to find answers to the most commonly-asked questions facing or posed by school superintendents, principals, school boards, and the general public.

Updates to the Illinois School Law Survey reflect extensive changes in the laws governing Illinois public schools. The Sixteenth Edition presents answers to new questions, contains revisions to questions and answers in response to changes in state and federal laws, and reflects the impact of new court cases relevant to school law. Answers to more than 1,600 questions are based on legislation and court decisions and administrative rules and regulations current as of January 1, 2020.

Readers can utilize key features of the book to find what they are looking for quickly. A Table of Contents outlines broad topics covered in each chapter, while an alphabetical Quick Reference Index provides a more narrow focus of subjects. A Table of Court Cases contains all court decisions cited in the print book.

A digital version comes with each printed book purchase at no additional charge. The online format includes the entire text of the book’s 27 chapters along with links to easily navigate from the Table of Cases or Index to relevant questions.
