Leadership

The Illinois Association of School Boards is governed by a Board of Directors. This governing body is made up of one representative elected from each of the IASB Divisions. The Board of Directors establishes policies governing the Association and setting standards for its management and operations.

At the annual Delegate Assembly, IASB members elect a president and vice president. The IASB president is the principal elective officer and presides over meetings of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors also appoints a treasurer to serve for a two-year term.

The Board is responsible for selecting and employing the Association executive director, who is tasked with the day-to-day administration and management of IASB.
