Scholarships Available for School Board Members to Attend Conference

The Illinois Association of School Boards is pleased to announce a new program to help school board members attend the IASB•IASA•IASBO Joint Annual Conference.
The IASB Board of Directors has developed the Joint Annual Conference Scholarship Program to support member school districts. This year, IASB will offer 42 scholarships to individual school board members (two from each of IASB’s 21 Divisions). Each scholarship will provide a board of education member a chance to enhance their professional growth and network with peers, colleagues, and other educational personnel.
The IASB•IASA•IASBO Joint Annual Conference is one of the nation's largest state education conferences and offers a variety of learning opportunities to support the professional and personal school leadership journeys of Illinois school board members, superintendents, and business officials. Attendees learn from experts on critical topics such as school finance, community engagement, educational equity and advocacy, safety and security, and collective bargaining. Attendees get up to date on current issues impacting public education and hear how other districts are meeting challenges and finding success. The 2024 Joint Annual Conference is November 22-24 in Chicago.

This scholarship will include:
- Conference registration fee
- Daily meal allotment for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- An allowable expense reimbursement
- Additional non-monetary benefits, including access to reserved housing and guidance for the recipients through their Conference experiences.
