Who — What — Where — Why — When — How
Who
School board members and district staff
What
The Resource Center provides answers to questions from IASB members and others
interested in public education, using timely research and information about their topics
of concern.
Where
The Resource Center is housed in IASB's Springfield headquarters.
Why
Informed and knowledgeable school boards make the best decisions. The Resource Center
is available to help - either directly through individually requested research or
indirectly by continually providing new information to IASB staff.
When
In response to questions, the Resource Center staff starts with its carefully chosen resources, including more than 3,000 books, nearly 500 serial titles and special collections. One of these special collections is the School Design Data File. This searchable database contains the entry form data, illustrations and commentary for more than 300 entries in the Educational Environments Exhibit at the Joint Annual Conference. Beyond these on-site resources, the Resource Center is a member of regional, national and international on-line services and uses the Internet extensively. It also participates in resource sharing through interlibrary loans and the Illinois Intersystems Library Delivery Service.
