To help school board members plan their training, IASB's board development department is announcing a new two-year 'Calendar of Events,' one covering both 2012 and 2013. This calendar includes pre-conference workshops and regional workshops held throughout this year and next.

"We listened to those of our members who wanted to know exactly what board development opportunities will be available and when, over a longer term, in order to better plan their training," said Angie Peifer, IASB's associate executive director for board development.

All events listed are subject to change based on board member needs, and based on the number of board members and superintendents enrolled in each workshop.

This edition of the two-year calendar features the LeaderShop Symposium, Pre-Conference Workshops in November, Data First workshops for the winter of 2013, Pre-Conference Workshops for 2013 Joint Annual Conference and Online Learning Center courses.

An up-to-date schedule of all current School Board LeaderShop offerings are available at the IASB online Events Calendar. Brochures and online registration are offered for most of the events.

In addition to these professional development opportunities, IASB also offers courses that can be taken anytime, anywhere through its Online Learning Center. Another alternative are in-district workshops available by contacting IASB field service directors.
