2008 Lieutenant Governor Survey |
IASB distributed instructions for a two-part survey to the board presidents of all member school districts. The Survey of Illinois School Districts is an annual survey conducted by the lieutenant governor's office in order to receive feedback on the need for and quality of the services of the Illinois State Board of Education and the Regional Offices of Education.
This survey is intended to fulfill state law (105 ILCS 5/2-3.112).
Part I of the survey evaluated the services and functions of the Illinois State Board of Education. Each of the 52 questions asked respondents to rate the ISBE performance as "excellent," "satisfactory," "needs improvement" or "unsatisfactory." Similar ratings were used in Part II, a 41-question survey that assessed the services and functions of the Regional Offices of Education.
IASB mailed letters containing the electronic survey link to each member board president. Deadline for returning completed surveys was Nov. 1. The Lt. Gov's office is responsible for tallying the results and submitting a written report of the surveys to the governor, General Assembly, ISBE, and ROEs. However; results of the 2008 education surveys have not been received.
Results of the 2007 education surveys can be viewed HERE.
